Overview
Shine VR is a VR platform. The VR experience is composed of spaces and activities, all designed around first and third party scientific research and refined from over 7,000 hours of trials. The user is free to choose whichever activity but will also be recommended activities by the built in wellness tracker.
Virtual reality has emerged as a viable tool to help in a number of different disorders, with the most strength of evidence for use in exposure therapy for patients with anxiety disorders, cue exposure therapy for patients with substance use disorders, and distraction for patients with acute pain requiring painful procedures.
Overall, meta-analyses indicates that VR is an efficacious tool, compares favorably to comparison conditions, and has lasting effects that generalize to the real world.
